Suggested links in AI chats and platforms increase your website traffic—but how?
But how can your website link be suggested when a question is asked on AI platforms like ChatGPT?
As you know, artificial intelligence does not display links as ads, but shows them according to certain standards called AEO.
If you want to learn more about it, read the article What is AEO.
For your website link to be suggested by AI, various factors are required.
The AI link suggestion algorithm considers different items for recommendation, and its display is completely different from SEO.
Some believe that by SEO alone, a website link will be suggested in AI, but this belief is incorrect.
Although SEO is one of the influencing factors, it is not the only reason.
For your link to be suggested in AI chats, your website must meet the following criteria.
As mentioned earlier, one important factor is the quality of your domain.
Domain quality depends on several factors:
These are some of the influential factors, but it should be noted that all these elements must be credible and verifiable to be considered.
For example, if your website content is not valuable and authoritative websites have not recommended you, the content and backlinks have no real value.
Websites leading in this field are those that publish valuable content organically and have it republished on reputable sites.
These websites are recognized as references, and AI systems rely on them.
In this context, users’ opinions about your website and content also matter.
This does not mean that user comments on your own website are influential, but rather user opinions on other websites and social media are important.
Therefore, having a strong presence on social media and engaging with users impacts this process.
As you know, the way people ask and answer questions on the internet is changing.
As a result, Google has also made changes to its search engine, adopting a functionality similar to AI systems like ChatGPT.
However, this does not mean that websites and content creation have become unimportant. Alongside SEO, a new approach has been added.
Primarily, websites that are considered must have pages with acceptable SEO rankings.
This allows AI systems to extract content easily.
AI does not operate based on keywords, but on sentences that users ask.
Therefore, content on websites should be created according to the types of questions users ask AI, to increase the likelihood of your website link being suggested.
The closer your content is to user questions, the higher the chance of being recommended, which can significantly boost your website traffic.
Since people are increasingly interested in asking questions to AI, it is recommended to incorporate the AEO approach into your digital marketing strategy.
