? Penetration testing is a process for testing secure or insecure networks or systems.
A specific team simulates a real attack by using hacking techniques, in order to determine the security level of a network.
or specify the system.
Penetration testing helps an organization to know the weaknesses of its network better and try to fix them.
This helps an organization to have a real assessment of its forces and network in terms of detection, ability to respond and make the right decision in time.
Information gathering is the first step before penetration testing.
The information to be collected includes active and passive information.
Port scanning is one of the most popular methods used by intruders to detect services running on a target host.
All systems that are connected to internal networks or the Internet run specific and well-known services.
Using specific tools, the intruder sends data in the form of TCP and UDP packets to the system ports.
By using the answers it receives from these ports, it can understand which ports are in use or in other words which ports are open.
When the intruder finds out which system ports are open, he focuses the attack on these ports and takes over the target system by using existing weaknesses.
