Update your content regularly

One of the things that is very important in updating the Google algorithm is updating the content of the site. We publish several new articles on the Academy every month, but do you know how often we update old content?

We will update more than 20 old articles in September. When we talk about updating, we don't mean editing a sentence or adding an image, we're talking about adding a handful of new paragraphs, removing irrelevant information, sometimes even writing entire articles. We try our best to create valuable content for readers and increase their value through updates.

We're not talking about creating new content, it's about updating old content. Now we want to say what you can do to update the old content.

If your old article does not have a reader, delete it, or choose an alternative content for it according to its address, or transfer related content to another page by redirecting it.

You should check if there are ways to make the content of that particular page more useful, such as adding infographics, step-by-step tutorials, adding videos, if you think it would make the content more useful, add them.

Check if there are dead links on your website. Dead links have a detrimental effect on website optimization.

If your article is a translated article, you should note that the title of the article has been translated in a useful and clear way.

You can express your content simply, avoid using complicated words and express content as much as you can so that the audience can understand it easily.

Is your article for a certain date or a certain period of time? If so, note that the date of the update must be included.

Avoid duplicate content on the website and if you have duplicate and similar content on the site, transfer it to a reference. Being repetitive does not mean copying from other sites. For example, we have similar articles in terms of website design, so we must combine them. we do. Through the above methods, you can largely avoid the damage of the Google algorithm update and stay with us for more information by reading this article.

Publish poor content

What is weak content, what attributes have weak content. Weak content is pages with few words. On average, 46% of websites have at least one page that is weak in terms of content.

Can you guess that many of these sites have been affected by the latest Google algorithm update? We checked 400 websites, except for the contact us page, their other pages had few content and those pages were not updated.

They lost at least a thousand hits to Google after the algorithm change and finally saw a massive change in their website. Websites that have poor content saw a lot of changes in their website SEO in the update.

Some pages cannot have a lot of content. It is better and easier to teach how to tie a tie through a video or image, and there is no need to write long content, but pages that need more depth should not have weak content. so that your site is not damaged in the Google algorithm update.

The question that may arise for you is, do we really need to add more words? If instead of adding a few words, you can get more audience through the video, it may be enough, but you need to include the content as well.

According to the user experience, most people prefer to get an answer to their question in a few seconds rather than waiting for a few minutes, so images and videos can help a lot along with full content.

Fix SEO errors

According to the studies conducted, another important factor of damage in Google ranking is SEO errors, such as duplicate titles and meta descriptions.

As mentioned above, this error is not unrelated to the above errors.

Because when you create several similar pages, you won't notice their increase in different categories over time, that's why you create duplicate pages with titles and meta descriptions that are very important in the new Google algorithm, so you have to remove them. Correct and change.

All Google's effort in updating the algorithm is to increase the quality of content and to give importance to the audience, so in general, create as much favorable content as possible for the audience.
